Conditions of confinement

quote
Political prisoners are tortured in IK-**. Both physical and psychological influence is used. The administration staff steals things of political prisoners for their so-called "operational" reasons. There is no human attitude towards us. It is forbidden to take anything from us and it is forbidden to help us in any way.

There is a special attitude towards those convicted under political articles. There are always more of them in SHIZOs and PKT. They are constantly deprived of parcels and visits for invented offences. They are forbidden to communicate with each other.

We slept on the floor, which was boarded up. The windows were shut tightly. The only source of fresh air was the "feeder" if we could persuade the controller to open it. The food tasted disgusting and was scarce. The lights were never switched off.

Lights out at 22:00, raised at 00:00-2:00-4:00, at 6 rise, you can not sleep during the day, not taken to wash, all the time the light was burning bright, even at night, beat on the legs during inspections, and sometimes even with all their might. A lot of bedbugs and horrible antisantaria.

The most humiliating procedure during imprisonment: a body search. Under the camera. Thankfully, at least not naked, but down to their underwear. But some of the staff (women, of course) liked to crawl under the underwear with their hands. Disgusting. It's still disgusting...

It was very cold, people in the jails next to us asked for bedding, but no one was given anything. And after a few days they took away our mattress and pillow. And for the last five days we lived in the cold. So, even the controller once told me that it was nothing, they would transfer you to Volodarka in the evening, it would be easier there.

The floors are stone, the benches are metal, it is cold, the glass in the windows is broken or missing (one glass out of two frames), there are a lot of cockroaches, some letters did not reach, pills were not always given.

There was no medical care at all (and if they treated me, they did not treat me with what I needed (with lung oncology I received stomach pills and then sedatives). Ban on education for political reasons, ban on visiting the sports complex.

We had 3 homeless people with us all the time and 2 other women from the "working" jail, one with Covid, one of them was specially planted to provoke others, which she sometimes managed to do. Medication was not given to everyone and not in full. The doctor, laughing, suggested that everyone drink raw water for constipation.

In winter we removed snow, pulled in bags on ourselves, chiselled ice, there should not be a single snowflake on the territory, everything was cleared to the asphalt and so all winter, in summer not a single drop of rain on the asphalt, we paddled puddles, chalked them, when asked where to put the water that had collected in the pits, the management answered - in their pockets.
